About Glendale

Glendale is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA.
It is a major suburb of Phoenix. 
Glendale, along with other West Valley cities such as Peoria and Avondale, has had a long standing rivalry with cities in the East Valley. It is sometimes nicknamed "the other dale" in comparison to Scottsdale.


This unique museum was founded in 1984 by Gabrielle Liese and houses an international collection of over 100,000 beads and beaded artifacts.

Glendale is home to the popular Arrowhead Towne Center mall in the northwest part of the city.


Glendale is the home to the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football Conference (NFL). The team formerly played at Sun Devil Stadium on the campus of Arizona State University in nearby Tempe, and in 2006 began playing at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The stadium was featured on the TV show Modern Marvels because of its roll-out natural grass field. The stadium is scheduled to host Super Bowl XLII in 2008.
Jobing.com Arena (formerly Glendale Arena) is adjacent to University of Phoenix Stadium, and is the home of the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League (NHL), as well as the Arizona Sting of the National Lacrosse League (NLL).
The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl is also located in Glendale, which opened in August 2006.
